U S Bank loan originators were vindicated last month when the Court preliminarily approved a settlement of their wage and hour claim in Calfiornia. Judge Sammartino of the Southern District of California granted preliminary approval of a settlement of $6.5 million in this class action on behalf of California workers. Hartley LLP was appointed class counsel in this wage and hour case. The complaint alleged that US Bank failed to properly compensate its loan originators, including failing to pay commissions for work done if the employee left US Bank before the loan closed. The Court set a final approval hearing in August, 2020.
