Hartley LLP and its co-lead counsel, on behalf of direct purchasers of beef in the United States, reached the second settlement in the In re Cattle and Beef Antitrust Litigation pending in the District of Minnesota. Tyson Foods, Inc. and Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc. agreed to pay $82.5 million to settle claims it price fixed beef products with JBS, Cargill and National Beef. This settlement follows the first ice-breaker settlement with JBS of $52.5 million reached in 2022. Plaintiffs will shortly be filing a preliminary approval motion with the Court and shall continue their litigation against the remaining Defendants, Cargill and National Beef.
